OJSC "Turboatom" tested and took to dispatch the wicket gate for Kiev HPP (Ukraine)

On the 17th of February 2010 OJSC "Turboatom" tested and took to dispatch the wicket gate of the hydroturbine for Kiev HPP (Unit No18).

With the representatives of the customer functional tests of the equipment were run, on the totals of which the act of delivery-take over was concluded about that all controlled characteristics are up to quality and satisfy the customer.

At Kiev HPP is effected the updating of the horizontal bulb-type turbine with the establishment of the new runner and the wicket gate. Designers of OJSC "Turboatom" created the new high-performance adjustable-blade runner with diameter 6 m with updating blading and equipped the wicket gate with new blades with better form. After the reconstruction the capacity of hydro unit will increase from 19, 2 MW to 21 MW, COE will increase to 4% and also will increase the ecological secure and age of turbine.

Till the end of February "Turboatom" is planning to dispatch to OJSC "Ukrgidroenergo" the wicket gate for Kanev HPP (Unit No8) and the runner for Kiev HPP (Unit No18).

Today 8 turbines are manufactured for updating HPP Dnepr cascade in the workshops.

Reference: Cascade Dnepr HPP and HPSP consists of eight hydropower stations of total capacity about 4 Million kW. 93 turbines work at cascade, 90 of which are established by OJSC “Turboatom”. The basic equipment of Dnepr stations was commissioned in 1950-1975. The implementation of reconstruction project of Dnepr cascade began in 1996, the first stage of works finished in June 2002. For this time at three hydropower stations were established 18 groups of the new hydroturbine equipment of OJSC “Turboatom” enterprise. The second stage of reconstruction includes the updating of 64 assemblies of hydropower stations of Dnepr cascade, inclusive of Kiev HPP-8, Kanev HPP-22, Kremenchug HPP-12, Dneprodzerzhinsk HPP-1-3, Dnepr HPP-II-8, Kahovkka-2, Kiev HPSP -3. Till 2011 is planned to renew 46 units. The customer of the updating project is OJSC “Ukrgidroenergo”.
