Machining and assembly production

Machining and assembly production of OJSC "Turboatom"is the main industrial process during the manufacture of equipment and constitutes about 65% of total volume of works regarding the equipment manufacture. The production is provided with equipment for turning, milling, boring, drilling, grinding, thread milling and thread-rolling, teeth-cutting, shotblasting cleaning and painting, assembly and testing and is equipped with unique complex of metalcutting machines -937 in number, including 80 CNC machine tools, 125 unique machine tools.

There is capability to perform machining of high accuracy on centre lathes with centres of height 1000 – 2000 mm and length of part up to 16 m, lathes with rotary table of diameter up to 14 m and diameter of machining up to 20 m, planing and milling machines with tables 4х10 и 5х16 m; drilling works for manufacture sheet grids and other parts.

The machining of rotors for steam turbines is performed on unique lathes including those ones with CNC "HOESCH" at maximal weight of rotor up to 200 t , diameter of machining is up to 5000 mm, length is up to 16000 mm. Special double-posts rotor-milling machines are used for machining of radious "fur" slots in rotors for blades installation. At the same time it is predicted to operate simultaneously with both posts during slots machining of two rotor disks of the same name.

Machining of basic parts is executed on special and specialized machine tools including machining centre with CNC "WALDRICH KOBURG", НС-ЗЗФ2 and others. Maximal dimensions of machined parts are as follows: length- 17000 mm, width - 5800 mm, height - 5000 mm.

The unique lathes with rotated table and maximal dimensions of machined part: diameter 20000 mm, height-5200 mm and weight - 400 t are used for machining of basic parts with circular shapes for hydraulic turbines. There are unique horizontal-boring two-posts machines:

  • of firms "SCHISS", "INNSE" for milling the surfaces of complicated
  • shape including vanes of Francis and Kaplan turbines.
