Manufacturing capability allow to produce steam and hydraulic turbines of total installed capacity 8 million kW and 2 million kW per year accordingly. The production is carried out in closed circuit: from development effort and research engineering up to manufacture, assembly, turbines test and dispatch. High level of technical designs of OJSC "Turboatom" is ensured by research and design works performed with using experimental complex of enterprise provided, with modern equipment meeting the international standards.
Technical level of output equipment is characterized by high coefficient of efficiency and high readiness factor. High quality of products is achieved due to permanent improvement. During the process of new design development and manufacture of turbines it is used the latest achievements of theoretical, experimental research engineering and trial design works taking into account the saving of succession and unifications on know-how basis.
OJSC "Turboatom" using scientific and technical collectives and laboratory research bases have a good chance to carry out research and development activities on:
- hydro- and gas-dynamic, vibration tests of various impeller systems and water passage elements;
- hydropower and cavitational researches of hydromachines, hydrotransmissions, ejectors with issue of performance characteristics;
- tests of sliding bearings with shaft neck diameter from 30 up to 1000 mm;
- experimental investigation of ferrous and non-ferrous metals with clarification of failure causes at operation.

Laboratory base of SDB "Turboatom" steam-gasturbine-building
incorporates 14 research laboratories, 5 of which are unique laboratories, test benches in Ukraine and some of them are unique in CIS and countries in Europe.
Laboratoties permit to conduct the steam, power, vibration, errosive, gas-dynamic and strength tests of nature design of steam and gas turbines and also complex of research works for producing energy-conserving, reliable and competitive turbine units.
There are capabilities to conduct air-dynamic researches on impeller grids,diffusers and exhaust manifold cases, on experimental air- and steam turbines of low pressure and also on measurement of vibration and deformation on rotors, blading and structural construction. Laboratory of bearings,ejectors bench test and some other have technical capabilities to conduct the experimental researches for other branches as well.
Experimental complex of SDB "Turbohydromach" hydromachines
which comprises 25 bench tests and stands including 5 large hydraulic stands meetng with the requirements of International electrotechnical commission. Complex allows to execute the development of new and impvovement of existing water passage elements of all the types of reactive hydroturbines, reversible hydromachines and hydraulic valves, the researches of processes of cavitation and errosion, power, energy,speeding up and comprehensive researches of efficiency and strengh of parts for hydroturbine equipment, acceptance tests of hydroturbines models.
Experimental complex of such class is unique in Ukraine and one of the largest and up-to-datein Europe. The bench tests are equipped with electronic devices for data proceeding to govern the experiments and recording of measured values.
